Well, this is it. Let us recap. This is the "Realistic Toy" Digital Airbrush assignment for my Digital Painting class. We had to create the character design for a toy and then, using Photoshop, "paint" it so that it looked like a "toy that has come to life" using "depth, richness and 3-dimensionality" so that the toy seems alive. We had to create a lively facial expression and give the toy some sense of "movement".

And yes, I'm kinda laughing as I type all this garbage...

It's as much as I'll be able to do for class. It turned out pretty good for what it is. Alex is looking good, even if he doesn't like being in female battle mode.

Overall, the class was mostly a waste of time. It ended up being an Adobe Photoshop 101 class where it should have been a Corel Painter Techniques class. It's really disappointing that, for an upper division class, they were teaching Photoshop basics that should have been learned back in the intro classes.

Just slightly annoying. Beyond the fact that the teacher has no clue how to do "digital painting", even in Photoshop. He's SOOOOOOO going to hate opening my final file for this. It's got like 25 bazillion layers. Just like he hates it. I'm sure he'll give me a sub-par grade on it too, even though my project had more detail and "realism" than most of the other things in class... oh well. It's just school and I really don't care about the grade. As long as it's passing and my overall GPA is above 2.0, I'm good.


Now to toss all the other pieces into Scraps. I may do a step by step on this too, so people can see the evolution.
